The 2021 Minister of Employment and Labor Award for Industrial Accident Prevention
K3 of Amkor Korea was awarded the 2021 Minister of Employment and
Labor Award for Industrial Accident Prevention in recognition of its contribution to building an
accident-free workplace through site-centered safety management activities.
Citation for its contribution to the successful promotion of 2019 Disaster Response Safety Korea Training
On December 30 2019, K5 of Amkor Korea participated in the
"Composite Disaster Due to Earthquake" response training organized by the Ministry of Public
Administration and Security in October, and as a result, it received a citation for its contribution to
the successful promotion of the training. In particular, Incheon City was selected as the best institution
in the national evaluation of the "2019 Disaster Response Safety Korea Training" organized by the Ministry
of Public Administration and Security.
Seoul Sarang Citizen's Award
Amkor Technology Korea applied to the Recycling Unit section of Seoul
Sarang Citizen's Award and was awarded due to its excellence in recycling, waste water reuse, and
waste emission reduction.
Golden Medal from the Presentation of the Excellent Occupational Safety and Health Committee Management
Amkor Technology Korea was awarded the Golden medal from the
Presentation of the Excellent Occupational Safety and Health Committee Management on July 1, 2005 at COEX.
The award was supported by the Ministry of Labor and Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency and a
total of 8 companies were invited to the presentation. The company presented its safety health improvement
cases such as the introduction of musculoskeletal disorder prevention programs, disaster reduction, and
working condition improvement.
The Grand Prize from Seoul Safety Culture
Amkor Technology Korea was awarded the Grand Prize from Seoul Safety
Culture in 2005 due to its contributions in bringing attention to a safety culture. The Safety Culture
Award was established in September 1995 by the government and the Citizen's Coalition for Safety in order
to promote a safety culture. The award consists of four areas such as the school safety, the public
safety, the road safety, and the industrial safety.
Excellence Award from the Honored Industrial Safety Controller Case Presentation
Amkor received the Excellence Award from the Honored Industrial Safety
Controller Case Presentation which was conducted by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency's
Seoul Office in June 2006. A total of 6 teams vied for the top during the presentation and presented the
“Systematical Safety Management Method” which received a high score from the judges.
Golden Medal from the Parent-Cooperating Companies Successful Cooperation Case Presentation
Amkor received the Golden Medal from the Parent-Cooperating Companies
Successful Cooperation Case Presentation conducted by the Ministry of Labor and the Korea Occupational
Safety and Health Agency on July 5, 2006 at KOEX. In March 2005, Amkor Technology Korea agreed on the
Parent-Cooperating Companies Partnership with the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency and
transferred its ESH management system to 20 cooperating companies. As a result, industrial disasters at
cooperating companies were greatly reduced.
The Parent-Cooperating Companies Partnership is a part of the safety
and health promotion policy in the Ministry of Labor. It removes toxic/harmful elements in cooperating
companies amid the trend that more companies use outsourcing in their businesses. Amkor Technology Korea
will continuously maintain the agreement and prevent industrial disasters and accidents by building
positive bonds with cooperating companies.
Excellent Company in Health Promotion
K1 and K3 factories of Amkor were acknowledged as excellent
workplaces by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency's Seoul Office and Kyounggido-
Incheon Office.
This award was implemented for the first time this year by the Ministry of
Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency. The award assesses general
management, level of awareness, organizational culture, program contents, and disaster reduction effects
over workplaces that are actively involved in industrial disease prevention and health promotional
activities.
As the company was acknowledged as an Excellent Company in Health
Promotion, it will receive various benefits from the labor administrative agencies such as industrial
health check-up exemption, priority for local business plans, and recommendation for other governmental
awards.
