Certification
ISO14001 & ISO45001
The company attained ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems in 1996
and OHSAS18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems in 2004. In 2006, the company combined the
ESH Management System to more effectively manage its environmental management systems and the new system was
certified by SGS. Moreover, the company also transferred the certifications to ISO14001: 2015 in 2018 and
ISO 45001: 2018 in 2020 for further reinforcement of the ESH Management System.
Occupational Safety Management
Amkor Technology Korea was acknowledged as the Green Partner by SONY in
2003 as a result of assessments regarding environment, safety, health, and quality system, production
process, design and production process management, and unusual case process. Not only Amkor Technology
Korea, but also ATP (Philippines), ATC (China), ATT (Taiwan), and ATJ (Japan) have received the
certification. Once a company receives the Green Partnership Certification, they become a supplier of Sony
thus increasing sales and an image as a eco-friendly company.
The Green Partnership Certification was introduced by Sony to enhance the
environmental quality of their product. Sony strictly applies the certification by discontinuing all
business relations with their supplier if the supplier fails to receive the certification.
PreSafety Evaluation
In 2005, the K1 (Seoul), K3 (Bupyeong), and K4 (Kwangju) factories of
Amkor Technology Korea successfully received the Samsung Eco Partner Certification satisfying Samsung
Electronics' Eco Partner Standards in environment and safety maintenance, production, and
environmentally hazardous substance management. Samsung requires its cooperating companies to conduct the
green purchasing policies and refurbish proper management system for control of environmentally hazardous
substances from raw materials to products. The certification is valid for two years and there is an
after-audit every year and a re-audit to renew the certification every two years. This certification proves
Amkor Technology Korea's excellence in environmentally hazardous substance management for raw
materials, production, and products. This also brings positive business effects by providing trust to the
ESH management of the company.
